Changing the glass in a double pane window is more complex than single-pane repairs. Double pane units are sealed, so you can’t just swap out one side. The correct process involves removing the entire IGU (insulated glass unit) and replacing it with a new, pre-sealed one.
After safely removing the sash, use a putty knife to separate the IGU. Clean the frame and install the new glass unit. Seal it with silicone caulk and allow time to cure.
